Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Greetings! I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe amidst the COVID pandemic. The Taiwan Health Evaluation and Promotion Association is pleased to invite you to take part in the 28th International Conference of Health Evaluation and Promotion (ICHEP 2022). The Summit will take place on 17-18 December 2022 in Taipei, Taiwan via virtual and limited face-to-face meeting.
The main conference theme will be “Healthy SMART – Screening, Management, Accreditation, Resilience, and Technology.” We will explore the screening policies, management of preventive services, accreditation of health checkup centers, resilience to restore holistic health, and modern technology in healthcare. You will learn the newest updates from expert healthcare professionals, soak up inspiration from all the speakers, discover the latest innovative healthcare technology, and connect with your peers from all over the world. Strategies for “Healthy SMART” represent an effective way to look for diseases before symptoms are present and to reduce disease risk by taking proactive steps, which are pivotal to reducing death and disability and improving people’s health.
The conference will give us all a chance to meet in person or virtually, discuss and implement positive changes for your practices. We will also enjoy posters and oral presentations from our emerging and early career researchers regarding our main theme. We really do hope you will join us in 2022. I am looking forward to your participation in this inspiring international conference.

First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude and appreciation to Prof. Kuo-Chin Huang and his colleagues who organized the 2022 IHEPA conference at Taipei despite difficulties we have been facing during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the year 2020, when the pandemic started to prevail worldwide, many people who have been receiving regular health evaluations hesitated to visit screening facilities. This resulted in an increase in number of patients with advanced diseases including malignancy. Ironically, the virus taught us the importance of receiving regular heath evaluation and promotion measures.
The IHEPA conference has been held biennially since its first meeting at Washington, DC in 1970. The 19th and 25th conference were held at Taipei and this 28th conference is the 3rd meeting in the city, indicating that Taiwan is a leading country in health evaluation and preventive medicine.
As you may realize, documenting that we are currently conducting health screening and follow-up methods is beneficial for future health promotion but is not an easy task. Since the IHEPA is the only international organization focusing on health promotion through regular heath evaluation, I sincerely hope that many important issues and messages will be discussed at this conference and they will be announced to the world from Taipei.
